Kam Kooner and Francesco Stagliano, District Managers for Shoppers Drug Mart, are no strangers to the Shoppers Drug Mart^® Run for Women, an annual event held in 18 communities across the country in support of women’s mental health programs. Their involvement with the Run is about more than just participation; it’s about the passion they share for the cause and the camaraderie they’ve built together over the past ten years.

Derrick transitions from grocery to beauty at Shoppers

Derrick Pittman’s retail career began in 1993 in the Loblaw bakery department, where he quickly learned the ins and outs of the business. Over the next 30 years, he steadily climbed the ladder—holding positions from Store Manager to District Manager and eventually Vice President of Operations across Loblaws, Zehrs, Provigo, and Market Franchise. In 2023, he served as the Senior Vice President (SVP), Operations for Real Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, and Market Franchise, cementing his reputation as a seasoned operator who understands retail at every level. Derrick’s progression wasn’t just about moving up; it was about building a deep understanding of everyday retail challenges by working side by side with frontline teams.

A new chapter in student wellness

When allergies hit and sneezes start to fill up lecture halls, students at the University of Ottawa can now Think Pharmacist when looking for relief. The University of Ottawa campus was buzzing with excitement last week as Shoppers Drug Mart officially opened the doors to its latest Pharmacy Care Clinic. This new clinic – the first on a university campus in Canada – marks a significant step forward in enhancing access to healthcare services for the university's vibrant student community.
